Thank you to all our parents who were able to join us on Friday. We were so happy to spend the afternoon with you all!
We wrapped up our unit of structures of life/food chains by dissecting owl pellets to determine what kinds of prey our owls had eaten. Our small scientists had so much fun and were able to determine owls eat things such as mice, shrew, and voles.
Congratulations to our students who earned their AR pins for the first nine weeks. These students met their point goals, while maintaining an average of 85% or above mastery on their tests. Not only did they receive a pin at the awards ceremony, but they were also treated to popsicles on the playground one afternoon!
Students played a game outside to simulate a food chain in the environment. Yellow jerseys were grasshoppers, green jerseys were frogs, and red jerseys were hawks. Students debated scenarios that created a stable, sustainable food chain.
